These so-called "LUMP" crab cakes from THE CRAB PLACE, were a MAJOR DISAPPONTMENT, to say the least.

Rather than tasting like authenic crab cakes from Baltimore, these pulverized patties of overpriced CAT FOOD came to our door looking freezer burned with dark discolorations.

I think this is possibly the WORST FOOD VENDOR in Amazon.com's inventory of gourmet foods. When you write to their customer service department some guy name MATT does his best to ignore you, offering nothing in return for all your efforts.

Probably made in a GARAGE somewhere in Virginia, this product is surely not worth the rediculous cost per pound they are charging.

The only thing THE CRAB PLACE really knows about CRABS......is apparently from an old gym class Personal Hygiene film the owners saw in High School!!!

We ordered a large intial order from "The Crab Place", who by the way go under various other names [including "The Lobster Store" which should be an early warning of something ugly pending in the wind.]

Their "Big Momma Shrimp" was the toughest, blandest shell fish I have ever eaten.....and their Lobster tails were tasteless and mushy.

The WORST thing that arrived on my order was the jar of "Crab Place" tarter sauce. THERE SHOULD BE A CRIME against companys that make this poor of a product. It was separated, like a clear slimey yellowish fluid with what looked like crab entrails floating around in the bottle.

It literally made me nautious and we threw it into our kitchen trash can straight from "The Crab Place's" shipping container.

When I wrote to complain about these problems, MATT from the Crab Place basically said "Sorry to hear you were disappointed.....let me know how the Crab Cakes you also ordered turn out"

Matt........if this is your idea of Customer Service, then that explains the lack of quality, the inexcusable poor integrity of your company, and your williness to put "On Sale" so many of "The Crab Place's" products on the internet.

By the way, "Matt", every review of your Crab Cakes says your advertised "lump crab" is so pulverize3d you can't even be sure it is real Crab Meat! I think I am going to save mine for CAT FOOD, thank you!

I truly believe this company is selling online, ONLY because they have been shut down by the local health department and have no other way to make a buck!

24 ounces.....i.e., a measely ONE pound, and eight ounces at over $110.00?

Folks, that boils down to a ridulous $ 67.70 a POUND for this substandard product for which most reviewers I have read has the consistency of FRISKIES cat food!

The only "LUMP" you are going to get with these Crab Cakes by the CRAB PLACE, is a smack on your head from your spouse for wasting your hard earned money on this SUPREME OVERPRICED RIPP OFF!!!

For that kind of money, SIXTY SEVEN DOLLARS A POUND, you could probably fly in Gourmet Kobe Beef from Japan and have a true gourmet repast.

I think these guys have decided that AMAZON.COM shoppers just fell off the bus, but I am here to tell them PEOPLE ARE WISING UP TO THEIR POOR PRODUCTS, and their POOR SERVICE.

Just write to them with a complaint, and their Customer Service guy, MATT will do his best to ignore your comments.

This is perhaps the VERY WORST FOOD VENDOR on the entire INTERNET.

You have been forwarned, by a first time, AND ONLY TIME CUSTOMER.
